While words spoken by the tongue describe an event, body language tells the complete story. Body language is like a telescope that peers into the human heart and mind, bringing distant news. Body language helps unlock locks that language fails to open. A patient’s personality can be better understood when, during case-taking, we not only listen carefully to the words spoken by the patient, but also pay attention to their tone and manner of speaking.
For example, notice the cold, flat, and dry tone of Anacardium. Even if describing a murder, they would sound as if buying onions from a street vendor – the extreme of heartlessness. A Gelsemium patient will have weakness evident in every part of their body. Whatever the complaint, if weakness is prominent in the symptoms, never forget Gelsemium.
You will sense the bureaucratic attitude of Nux vomica. They will describe symptoms with extreme precision and order. The governing style of Lycopodium, Nux vomica, and Aurum metallicum is prominent. Medicines exhibiting a bureaucratic attitude include Nux vomica, Aurum metallicum, Platina, and Lycopodium.
You may have noticed some patients who come to the clinic, sit down, and don’t initiate conversation until you address them. Examples include Natrum muriaticum, Aurum metallicum, Baryta carbonica, Bryonia, Sepia, Silicea, etc. What is Natrum muriaticum? It’s a deep sea of emotions without surface waves. زبان سے ادا کیے گئے الفاظ اگرچہ واقعہ بیان کرتے ہیں لیکن باڈی لینگویج مکمل واقعہ بیان کرتی ہے۔ باڈی لینگویج دراصل وہ دور بین ہے جو انسانی دل و دماغ میں جھانک کر دور کی خبر لاتی ہے۔ باڈی لینگویج سے ایسے قفل کھولنے میں مدد ملتی ہے جنہیں زبان کھولنے سے قاصر ہوتی ہے۔ مریض کی شخصیت کو بہتر طریقے سے سمجھا جا سکتا ہے
لہذا کیس ٹیکنگ کے دوران جب مریض کی زبان سے ادا کئے گئے الفاظ کو غور سے سنتے ہیں۔ بلکہ اس کے لب و لہجہ پر بھی دھیان دیتے ہیں۔
مثلاً اناکارڈیم کے سرد ،سپاٹ اور خشک لہجہ پر غور کریں اگر وہ کسی قتل کا واقعہ بھی سنا رہا ہوگا تو یوں جیسے ریڑھی والے سے پیاز خرید رہا ہے۔سنگدلی کی انتہا ہے۔
جیلسیمیم کا مریض ہو گا تو نقاہت اس کے انگ انگ سے عیاں ہو گی۔شکایت کوئی بھی ہو اگر علامات میں نقاہت نمایاں ہو تو جیلسیمیم کو کبھی نہ بھولیں۔
نکس وامیکا کا بیوروکریٹک رویہ ، آپ محسوس کریں گے۔کہ یہ علامات بیان کرے گا تو انتہائی نفاست اور تر تیب سے ، لائیکو، نکس اور اورم میٹ کا اندازِ حکمرانی نمایاں ہوتا ہے۔بیورو کریٹک رویہ جن دواؤں میں پایا جاتا ہے نکس وامیکا، اورم میٹ ،پلاٹینا، لائیکو پوڈیم اس میں شامل ہیں ۔
آپ نے دیکھا ہو گا بعض مریض کلینک میں آ کر بیٹھ جائیں گے اور جب تک آپ ان سے مخاطب نہ ہو ں وہ بات چیت میں پہل نہیں کرتے۔مثلاً نیٹرم میور، اورم میٹ، برائٹا کارب، برائی اونیا، سیپیا، سلیشیاوغیرہ۔ نیٹرم میور کیا ہے۔ جذبات کا ایک گہرا سمندر ہے جس کے اوپر لہریں نہیں اٹھتیں۔ اگر نیٹرم میور کو سمجھنا ہے تو انگریزی فلم Titanic کو ضرور دیکھئے۔
